605 PINE NEEDLE BASKET
Learn the ancient art of “coiling,” as practiced for centuries. The class is for beginners to experience the craft of using pine needles. The three classes will each feature a different basket, each building upon the skills from the previous one; you will start with a wooden base, then a tenerife bottom, and finally a coiled beginning. There will be handouts on the methods used as well as a short history of the craft. The student packet will include Internet sites, reference materials and suppliers as well as a written review of the methods used. Fees include supplies.
