The six week class will cover basic tapestry techniques. Information on the use of color, blending Colors with yarn and developing a composition for a cartoon even if drawing experience is lacking.
Most supplies will be provided for the first class. Students will need to bring tapestry needles, scissors, and a fork for a beater.
Learn to warp and weave on your rigid heddle loom using the direct warping (peg) method. While weaving, we will discuss various aspects of using color and texture in you weaving, how to weave various types of cloth, and how to complete your projects.
Learn the basics of plain-weave inkle weaving. Class time will be spent discussing reading an inkle draft, tying heddles, warping the loom, and weaving. There will be a handout for students to keep. Bring your own loom or rent one from the shop.
