STITCH 'N PITCH IS SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 24TH!
Summer classes are posted and registrations are being accepted!
First of all, we would like to thank all of you who have found us at our new location and continue to shop at the Fiber Factory. We understand that the high price of gas and all the other resulting price increases, have put a damper on one’s discretionary income. We continue in our goal to purchase yarns that give you the quality you have come to expect at the best price available. Need yarn or accessories and don’t want to drive to Mesa? We can ship it to you and will always choose the method that will cost you the least amount of money, whether it is UPS or the US Mail. As always, we are here and happy to help with any problems you encounter with your projects.
Many of you have heard about the sock design contest sponsored by XRX. We are a Sox Hot Spot for Mountain Colors, Unique Colors, Regia and Southwest Trading Company. Plenty of yarns are in stock, with more arriving regularly. For details and contest rules go to www.thinkoutsidethesox.com or the Spring issue of Knitter’s Magazine.
The new spring and summer yarns are in stock. In DK weight we have Classic Elite’s Cotton Bamboo, a 52/48 blend in 12 colors. Hemp For Knitting’s Allhemp6 is 100% hemp yarn in 12 colors. KFI’s Calico is a cotton/acrylic blend in eight lovely pastel colors. Reynold’s Top Seed Cotton Print is a sport weight variegated 100% cotton. Cotsoy from Euro is a worsted weight cotton/soy blend with an amazing hand. All these yarns have great pattern support.
Both new cottons from the Mirasol Collection are here. Ti’ka is 100% Pima Cotton and comes in 12 colors. Samp’a is naturally dyed 100% organic cotton in eight colors. Both knit at DK weight. Book Two of the Mirasol collection has gorgeous patterns for all of their cotton yarns.
We are pleased to have Albert Abril back again this summer and Su Walker will join as a basket weaving instructor. Mary Glendinning’s T-Shirt class has proven to be so popular that we have scheduled three sessions. Hopefully there will be a time convenient for those of you wanting to take the class. Lori has designed a beautiful sock pattern that she will be sharing in Lily of the Valley Sock class. Please remember that this is for the experienced sock knitter. There are other new classes, but space limitations prevent me from elaborating.
In addition to Knitting Happy Hour, there will be Crochet Clinic with Elly, our resident expert, on selected Friday afternoons. You can get help similar to that of a private lesson but at a class price. Psockiatry Sessions with “Dr.” Lori Smith will be held on the Second Saturday of the month. The couch will be open for those who need sole fulfillment. Please register in advance for these sessions, they are listed in the Special Events section on the classes page. Mary Glendinning will be available for private lessons on any knitting topic or project on Wednesdays. Please call the shop to arrange a session with Mary.
Since Bonita will be out of town for the Month of August, rather than trying to coerce someone else into teaching, it was decided that the floor looms would be available for use in the shop during that time. Talk to Terri or Susan if you are interested in an in-store rental.
